Benard Osiron is the visionary, founder, chairman and managing director of Apple Vision limited. He is a professional chemist, chemical engineer, entrepreneur and businessman.
He envisions a very comprehensive firm where professionals from diverse disciplines could work together to produce innovative, implementable and sustainable solutions and projects of superior quality than would be achieved by them working in isolation.
He believes in building a diverse and high performing work team which is anchored on the company’s core values of professionalism, integrity, teamwork, customer focus, innovation, quality, and excellence, and propelled by the company’s slogan, “Excellence Above Worldclass”. His ultimate intention is to cultivate a sustainable legal entity of consulting and engineering that solves current global challenges of green growth and sustainability, across the manufacturing, oil and gas; energy and climate protection; water and environment; and building, transportation and urban spaces.
Benard is a finalist of Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Makerere University and holds a Bachelor (Hons) of Science in Industrial Chemistry from Makerere University. He is an expert in business and engineering consulting. Besides, he is an expert in applications of operational excellence tools such as Lean Six Sigma (LSS) on continuous improvement projects. His career goal is to become a Chartered Chemical Engineer and thus, build Apple Vision limited as a home of chartered engineers, chartered scientists and chartered planners, who are dedicated to providing consulting and engineering services for sustainability across the globe.
Benard has over six years of working experience in leadership, operations management, and consulting. He has worked for both private and public institutions including Uganda National Bureau of Standards, Cipla Quality Chemical Industries limited and Abacus Parenteral Drugs limited, among others. He has proved successful in people and change management, where he acknowledges human diversity and treats human resource as the most critical element of success in creating and delivering superior customer value. Moreover, he is skilled, knowledgeable and experienced in business, management, corporate finance, and strategy.
Benard has experience in managing new manufacturing projects, that’s, from feasibility analysis, preparation of designs, vendor sourcing and qualification, equipment installation, equipment qualification, process validation, plant commissioning and startup, preparation of standard operating procedures, plant operation, and troubleshooting. He is also experienced in quality analysis and control – implementation of quality management systems and staff training. He is well versed with engineering soft wares such as Aspen Hysys, Aspen plus, AutoCAD, in preparation of energy and material balances, PFDs, P&IDs, process and instrument data sheets and troubleshooting, across the manufacturing and energy sector.
Basing on his career path, he has worked directly with national, regional and international regulatory bodies including; World Health Organization (WHO), Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Uganda National Drug Authority (NDA), East African Community, Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS), among others.. As such, he is experienced in regulatory audits and compliance as well as being acquainted with both national and international regulatory frameworks. For that matter, he is also well acquainted with current good manufacturing practices (cGMPs), good laboratory practices (GLPs), and quality management systems (QMS). Therefore, he possesses invaluable experience that will assist local manufacturers and businesses in cultivating compliant operations across all sectors.
He has undertaken professional and technical trainings, such as, Chemical Plant Design by engineer Jeferson Costa, Brazil; Developing Operational Resilience and Business Continuity in Chemical Manufacturing by American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE); Business Continuity Management (BCM) by The Ultimate Group, Kenya; ISO/IEC 17025:2017 – Guidelines for competence for testing and calibration laboratories by Uganda National Bureau of Standards.
Additionally, Benard has undertaken various trainings to strengthen his leadership, management and finance capabilities. Most of these trainings were sponsored by United Nations, EU, UKAID, and USAID, and include: Developing Donor Funded Projects, Project Planning and Management, Project Monitoring and Evaluation, Leadership and Administration, Budget and Finance Management, and Management of Community Development Projects. This occurred in the month of April 2019 at Makerere University.
Benard is also an experienced researcher. Currently, he is undertaking an MBA Dissertation entitled, “Critical Success Factors, Dynamic Capabilities and Operational Excellence for the Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Industry in Uganda”. The findings from this research are projected to aid in the development of robust business operations that are self-sustaining and profitable despite the changes in the business environment.
He holds memberships with professional bodies such as International Association of Engineers (IAENG) and Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE).
Basing on the above facts, Benard is confident about his strategic and well diversified portfolio of knowledge, skills and experience in developing a consulting and engineering entity that consolidates all the knowledge, skills and experiences of various professions in order to improve and sustain the quality of businesses, lives, clean energy mix, climate, and environment; thus, the rise of Apple Vision limited.
